The Gospel (Good News)
God has given us a way out of the white throne judgement, our sin, guilt, spiritual death, separation from God and destination of the lake of fire.
All of this bad news does have a silver lining of hope. You see, God does have a plan to save you from His wrath at the final judgement. It was our sinful choices, both the collective sins of all of mankind and my sinful choices, that got us/me into this situation. It is solely the unmerited favor and selfless love of God that makes a way out of this mess for us. So, without any further delay, here is the information you need to know to avoid the wrath of God upon your life.

-According to Romans 3:23, our condition is that all of us have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. That’s right, each of us fall short of what God expects of us. This is one of the reasons we feel guilty when we think, do or say things that we know displease God. Those things are known as sin orsins.
-Romans 6:23 tells us that the results or wages or our sin is death. So, the payment we receive for our sin (thoughts, actions or words that displeaseGod)isdeath (the death we experience isboth
physical and spiritual. That is, our body dies but so also our soul and spirt die as well. The first death occurs when our physical bodies stop working. The second death occurs when those who don’t follow Christ are thrown into a place the bible calls, “The Lake of Fire”)
-Our good deeds will never be enough to tip the scales of God’s justice in our favor. Romans 3:20 tells us that by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law the knowledge of sin. Most people think that if they are good enough and mostly keep all of God’s commandments, He will accept them into heaven. This verse (and many others) tell us that there is no list of good deeds we can do to make ourselves right withGod.
-In our worst, spiritually dead and most hopeless condition, there was nothing we could do to save our self. However, even in that sinful, spiritually dead, and rebellious state, God still loved us and sent His son Jesus to take the punishment and judgment due us through His death on the cross. You see, God could not simply overlook our sins. Because of His perfect righteousness and justice, our sins had to be paid for. Romans 5:8 says,8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. You see, at the Cross of Christ, God the Father poured out His anger that was due us for our sins, onto His only Son. Jesus loved us so much that He chose to take the punishment of our sins on His body so that the righteous requirements of Gods justice could be satisfied. You see, when we are at our worst, God still loved us and wanted to redeem us from our lost, rebellious state.
-Jesus defeated the power of death for us through the radical act of the resurrection from the dead. Of course, He died for our sins but he was raised again for our eternal life. 1 Peter 1:3 tells us,
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Without the resurrection of Christ, we would not have a living hope of personal resurrection and eternal life.
-Based on the two major acts of Christ on our behalf, the tortuous death through crucifixion (the place of experiencing the wrath of God in our place) and death defeating miracle of the resurrection , God calls us to turn away from our sins and turn towards Christ in Faith. In Acts 3, we are instructed to....
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord……Because the obstacle to our forgiveness and the penalty of death was solved by Jesus, he calls us to turn away from false gods or the worship of self, and turn our minds, lives, and wills to Him and His will for our lives. He literally calls us to change our minds, thus changing the actions and very course of our lives.
-Once we have come to God through Christ with repentance and faith, Salvation and the new status of sonship is granted to us who put our faith and belief and trust in Him and His finished work on our behalf. In John 1:12 we read, 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [a]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: When we believe in Jesus, our status with God changes from being merely one who is created in the image of God but alienated from Him because of our sin, to an actual son of God and heir to an indescribable eternal inheritance in a mysterious place called heaven. We are legally adopted into God’s family through our willful association with Jesus. This adoption is made possible by the work of Jesus on the cross and he defeat of the grave through resurrection. We are in Christ and being so found, we stand with his righteousness imputed to us. We are not just servants waiting on the King, but Sons, blessed with fellowship and the presence of the king of kings and lord of lords.
-The first benefit we receive when we place our faith and belief in Jesus is the forgiveness of our sins and because of our righteous standing because of the work of Christ, we receive the Adoption as sons and daughters into God’s family. Acts 10:43 tells us, To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.” As stated above, the amazing thing is that God could not simply choose to overlook our sins, instead, He poured out the punishment dueus
on His son Jesus, so that His righteous justice could be fulfilled. Our association with Jesus, gives us the same righteous standing that He has with the Father It really is “who” you know.
-The second benefit we receive when we place our faith and belief in Jesus is the gift of eternal life.In John 5 we see, 24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. The curse of death is lifted in our lives. We no longer have to live in fear that our existence terminates when we leave this life. We have the promise of eternal life in the presence of God.
-The third benefit we receive when we place our faith and belief in Jesus is the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes into our life to comfort us, counsel us, direct us away from sinful choices, five us spiritual gifts, and to lead us into all truth.
-Not only does God give us these gifts, he wants you to be secure and know that you have eternal life. John tells us in 1 John 5:11-13, 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has [a]life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. He does not want you walking around in fear of His wrath. Instead, for those who have truly trusted in Christ as savior, He wants you to have security and joy in your salvation.
